ABOUT ME

My name is Karaha and also known as K (Kay) for short. I am a highly creative, with an aesthetic to bring light, colour and beauty into the life of others. Utilised through photography, painting and interior styling.

 

After completing a Bachelors’ degree in Fine Art – I furthered my creative skills in Visual Merchandising, giving me the experience of scale and proportion in a room layout.  With my knowledge in Fine Art I am able to enhance the overall interior scheme with the right artistic piece. With the ability to create custom art in various styles and mediums.

 

I currently reside in Dubai and have been for the last 13 years as a Cabin Steward for Emirates Airline. Learning about cultural diversity has always struck a chord in me and has helped in identifying various architecture and interior styles.  I am able to engage, interact with people from all walks of life.  Being a world-traveller, I am able to submerge myself and find inspiration and uniqueness in destinations.  Studying various hotel’s, I stay at from its art, floral displays and colour schemes.

 

Having recently completed a diploma with the Interior Design Institute, and a certificate in Home staging and property styling, I am now ready at the age of 43 to undertake a new career path that drives me - and is full of passion.  Looking at returning to New Zealand and enhancing a company’s aesthetic with a travelled perspective.

 

What excites me – is finding a home design store or boutique in a city from bespoke furniture, wallpaper to homewares.  I enjoy finding a good café to sit and enjoy a coffee and immerse myself in the city’s lifestyle, architecture and vibe.
